Welcome to Tabeer Restaurant's website

Tabeer restaurant is recognized as a fine Pakistani cuisine in the Washington metropolitan area. We have attempted to recreate the ambiance, atmosphere and the flavors that make a visit to the restaurants in Pakistan so memorable. We hope your visit to Tabeer will give you a glimpse of Pakistan and its rich cultures.

If you can’t get away to Lahore, Pakistan, where the streets are alive with restaurants, tea houses, Samosa and juice stall, you can simply visit Tabeer Restaurant. Home of second highest mountain in the world, enjoying the fresh mountain air and some of the finest food you’ve tasted.

Pakistani cuisine takes select cuts of chicken, lamb, goat, beef, and a wide selection of vegetables, then surrounds them with the most succulent curries and masalas (spices) sauces imaginable. The food in Pakistan resembles that of Indian cuisines with a blend of Middle Eastern influences.

Contrary to popular belief, Pakistani food is not and does not have to be spiced overly hot to be enjoyed. In fact the art in Pakistani cookery lies in the delicacy of spicing. In order to be able to satisfy all our patrons, we offer different levels of spicing for almost all the items on this menu.

Our knowledgeable staff will be pleased to familiarize you with the various levels of spicing and also assist you in the selection of your dinner menu. Please do not hesitate to consult your server. With our courteous and attentive service we will endeavor to make your food experience at Tabeer a memorable one and hope that it will leave you with a desire to come back, again and again. Here is a suggestion we think will enhance your food experience at Tabeer and make it more adventurous and hopefully more enjoyable too.

There is no way around it. Pakistani food tastes best when eaten with your fingers! There is a tactile dimension added to the eating process. Besides, Pakistani food is designed to be eaten by hand. Breads are to be torn and wrapped around foods. Rice (not necessary to eat with fingers) is customarily blended with curries so each mouthful is unique. If you eat off a banana leaf (which by the way is still possible in many places in Pakistan) trying to use a knife and fork would shred your “plate ". Eating with your fingers is a cultural experience everyone should experience while visiting Pakistan. And just like eating with chopsticks in a Chinese restaurant, feel free to switch back to utensils if you are not enjoying the experience. In any event, rest assured that your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to the ownership and staff at Tabeer.

Above all feel certain that you are most welcome, that your continued patronage is most appreciated and that your comfort and satisfaction are of the utmost concern to us. Visit Tabeer Restaurant and enjoy the pleasure Pakistani cuisine has to offer.
